![]() 50 Miles Down, 15,000 to GoBack to 50 Mile Training RideBy Chris Thompson - 2008-09-10
We had our first group training run this weekend, and it went really well. The weather was great, and it wasn’t too windy; you wouldn’t have thought it was February. We started things off right by sleeping outside, but the temperatures weren’t so agreeable…as you can see by the frost on Mike and his bag.
But, we survived the night! A few repairs, and we were on the road, Chris Mireider planned out our route, 25 miles down and back route 30. Traffic was light, and the shoulders were wide. There was one small hangup 15 miles in, when I blew a tire and snapped off the top the the tube valve. The only replacement tube we had was for a smaller diameter wheel, with a wider tube, but Daniel managed to stuff it and stretch it onto the rim. Other than that the ride was nice and smooth.
